A vintage black oilskin cape

There’s just so much to like about The Cape Queen’s old black oilskin cape. It probably dates from the 1950s or the very early 1960s and it’s certainly lasted very well. Yes, it has a cracking mellowed shine to it, and the stitching’s as good as new and the collar fasteners are just as good.

Clair loves it, and rightly so. The day she went to a nearby Edwardian park the sun was shining but the breeze was strong – the cape kept her warm and free of the breeze. And once again the cape caused much head-turning. And rightly so.
