What an afternoon that was and looking back it’s hard to believe that was in late July. Still, Clair The Cape Queen’s historic exploration of Magpie Mine wasn’t postponed, despite the rain.

And yes, her 1980s clear red cape meant she was protected against the harsh Derbyshire wind. And there was no missing her either because the red was undeniably brilliant. It made a great contrast to the stark sky too…
