Capes on Tour – Weymouth, part four. The shopfronts and more

Ah, the bracing British seaside weather! Even in early summer the word bracing applies and it certainly did when Clair The Cape Queen went for a stroll along the seafront.
We know The Cape Queen has a great interest in British metropolitan architecture and there’s denying the interest she had in Weymouth’s seafront shopfronts.
Don’t take this the wrong way – much of the signage seemed to hail from the 1960s and 1970s, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Those typefaces and colours are rammed with character, often have a decent splash of colour and entirely suit their location – which modern typefaces could never achieve.
There was a good walk along the front, with much stopping to take in the shopfront designs. Hopefully you’ll enjoy them as much as The Cape Queen did!
